Our Logo Story

Someone once asked me, “What is the meaning behind your logo?” During my youth, we often had to use oil lamps for lighting. Also, during that time, teaching was not just a profession, but a highly regarded position. We students, admired, respected, and listened to our teachers, even more than our own parents. We didn’t dare call our teacher by their name. However, most of the teachers were very poor, especially those who lived and worked in the country regions. They often had to have a side job just to support themselves. The image of them preparing class materials and rating our papers under the oil lamps has imprinted deeply in my heart. Even with a very limited income, they chose to continue with this profession just to be able to teach us and to brighten up the little corners of our hearts and our minds with their flame of love and knowledge. Since then, I’ve decided to follow in their footsteps whenever I can.  In my logo, the two hands carry a light, presenting my wishes to light up the happiness and peace of mind in each person that I come into contact with. Those two hands are sprouted out of a Yellow Plum flower. These flowers bloom at the beginning of spring. They are not only the sign of the New Year to South Vietnamese, but also an image of a pure, gentle, and elegant human being.   My logo has continued to transform for the last eighteen years, but that center piece has never changed. The circle around the center piece consists of five dots, representing the circle of the Five-Elements in East Asian Medicine: Fire – Earth – Metal – Water – Wood. They are the basic formation of the universe, from the single cell to all living things. This concept is ingrained in a lot of us Vietnamese. We grew up with it and apply it in all aspects of our lives.  And now, this basic foundation will help me to light up the healing process and give peace of mind to my patients.
